About De Gorter, Inc.
Daniel De Gorter founded De Gorter, Inc. in 1922. From 1922 until 1969,
at the time of his death, Daniel was one of the largest importers of
glass and glass products into the United States. After the death of
Daniel, his son John saw the future decline of imported glass due to the
improved float production in this country. Through his connections in
the Industry, John felt that glass-fabricating equipment would be in
greater demand.Starting in 1969, De Gorter, Inc. began devoting its efforts in the sale and service of glass processing equipment. Since then, we have grown steadily, with our main concentration being a company, which will provide only quality equipment with reliable service. We price ourselves in providing our customers with the level of service they deserve. This is evident by our being voted one of the best overall companies representing fabricating equipment in the glass industry, for two years in a row.
We have recently moved to a larger facility to further improve our service. The new building has allowed us to increase our inventory levels and provide extra services to our customers, such as diamond wheel redressing and polishing wheel profiling. We can also provide machinery service and rebuilding in house. We have people who are fluent in Spanish, so we are able to assist customers in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Latin America. We also employ two service engineers to assist our customer in installation and servicing of their equipment.
