De Gorter Inc. has been working hard with its clients and the leading Diamond Manufacturers to come up with a large variety of diamond products for use in glass drilling and grinding. Depending on your application, we have a diamond product for your specific requirements. In addition, we offer a full redressing service. You can send your damaged diamond wheels to De Gorter, Inc. and with our rectification machine, we can repair damaged diamond surfaces and return the wheel to its original profile.

Drill Bits

De Gorter, Inc. has been supplying high quality drill bits to the industry for over twenty years. Our bits are fully impregnated, diamond core drills, with a brass bond. Because of this design feature, drills can be sharpened by using a dressing block or stone. Our drills are available in several different styles; straight shank, Belgian Mount, ADA style and expandable diameter bits. Several styles are available with an adjustable reamer for countersinking holes. Our bits are being used by small operators all the way up to large volume, automotive glass manufacturers. We are sure that we can supply a quality suitable for your specific drilling application.

Diamond Cup Wheels

De Gorter, Inc. also has a complete line of diamond cup wheels for all types of machinery. We offer several different styles of cup wheels, depending on your specific grinding application. Most applications can be well suited by a standard, continuous band cup wheel.

However, some applications are better suited for what is called a “TURBO” diamond band. Turbo bands are slightly segmented, allowing for better glass removal and less heat generated during the grinding process.

Our most aggressive diamond wheel is the “SUPER TURBO”. It has a fully segmented diamond band. It is the preferred wheels when doing heavy glass, laminated glass or mitering. The aggressive band, with cooling slots allows for larger removal amounts. In addition, the complete slots keep the wheels running cool and allow the grindings and interlayer to wash completely away.

With the addition of resin wheels flat edgers, we have expanded our line to include some high quality resin diamonds for our Schiatti edgers. Through the efforts of Schiatti and our diamond manufacturer, we have found what we believe to be the very best combination of grits for achieving a superior finish on our resin wheel edgers.

Peripheral Diamond Wheels

Our diamond line is completed by our peripheral wheels. Here too, we have different types of wheels, depending on your specific grinding requirements. De Gorter, Inc. can offer a high concentration peripheral wheel, for those plants looking to minimize their cost per inch and down time associated with frequent wheel changes. Testing data shows these wheel to average over 7 million inches of production.

If you do not require such a high performance wheel, then we can supply a wheel with a lower concentration of diamond and a softer bond. It is a good alternative to the high production wheel and the life averages 1.5 million inches.

Wheel profiles that are available are pencil edge, bull nose, ogee, waterfall and flat with or without seams. Wheels can be made with either continuous or segmented diamond bands, depending on your application.
